01 · Timber source
Timber Source
Our Food Benches are made from reclaimed oak planks and solid beams sourced from Kentucky USA.
Originally used as ranch and railway fencing, the oak planks were chosen due to the durability of the material over softwoods.
The solid legs are made from reclaimed timber oak beams.
02 · Preparation
Treatment and Preparation
The timber is kiln dried and treated in America prior to transportation to our workshop here in the UK where they are planed down with an industrial sander to remove any paint from the surface to reveal the natural beauty of the wood.
03 · Manufacture
Manufacture
The boards are then carefully selected for their individual character by our expert craftsmen and finished by hand. An application of lime is then applied to bring out the original colour of the oak prior to lacquering.
The internal carcasses are made from high quality 19mm Eggerboard and our soft close drawer boxes are available in a choice of either veneered or solid oak with dovetail joints.
Every Food Bench is individually hand built ensuring each one is completely unique due to the individuality of planks selected.
04 · Worktops
Worktops
The worktops are available in a wide range of colours and materials including natural granite and marble, quartz, porcelain as well as metal finishes.
05 · Delivery
Delivery and Assembly
The lead-time for a Food Bench is between 6 and 8 weeks from date of order and you will be notified 2 weeks prior to delivery with a confirmed arrival date.
Our 2 man delivery team will assemble your Food Bench in your home and leave it ready for you to enjoy.
