Who we are

This website, foodbench.co.uk, is operated by Food Bench Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10780377). Our trading address is 80 Crown Road, Twickenham TW1 3ER, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this site.

What we collect, and why

We collect personal information in one place only: the enquiry form on our contact page. If you use it, we receive your name, email address, phone number, your message, and any options you tick, such as the accessories you are interested in or a request for a price list.

We use this information to reply to your enquiry, to answer your questions about our benches, and, when you have asked for one, to send you a price list. That is all. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Like most websites, our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify visitors.

Our legal grounds

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on your consent when you submit the enquiry form, which is why the form asks you to confirm you agree to this policy, and on our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us. Where we send you something you have specifically asked for, such as a price list, we do so because you requested it.

Who we share it with

Your details are seen only by the people who need them to answer you: the Food Bench team and the service providers that run our infrastructure, our website hosting provider and the customer-relationship system we use to manage enquiries and send replies. Each acts under contract and cannot use your information for its own purposes. We may also share information where the law requires it.

International transfers

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which may be outside the UK, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No other personal information is sent. Google's own privacy policy governs that processing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we are actively talking to you, and for up to two years after our last contact, in case you come back to a project later. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@foodbench.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.
